#14 in the series "Why Things Go Wrong"
The disciple of Jesus is called to remember, not only is he saved by the death of Jesus on the cross, but he is called to live all of his life by the pattern of the cross. This is what Jesus meant when He said we all must take up our cross, every day, and follow Him. In other words, the cross doesn't just have to do with getting to heaven. It has to do with living on earth. And I cant have the cross for one purpose without taking it fully on my shoulder for the other. Eternal redemption is quite literally tied to daily cross-bearing in the teaching of the New Testament.
