Go for a Walk and Hold Hands

Our current situation may have you and your spouse feeling trapped. One way to combat this feeling is to get out of the house and go for a walk.

Walking is an activity that has been shown to help improve both physical and mental health. For example, while walking your brain increases the production of important neurochemicals that help relieve anxiety. This has the benefit of leaving you feeling more energized and happier.

For this week's Quarantine Date, we suggest you take a walk with your spouse (or with your whole family if you have little ones). Be sure to hold hands with your spouse!

You may be feeling hopeless that things will not return to how they were. If you are discouraged by your current circumstances, keep looking forward. Use this as an opportunity to talk with your spouse about your hopes and dreams.

While walking, ask each other these types of questions:

How do you envision your future together?

What aspects of your relationship do you want to enhance together?

What are you most looking forward to doing together, or as a family?

What dreams do you have for yourself?

How can you encourage each other in accomplishing those dreams?

Share with each other what you value most about each other.
